Summary:
Within the Station Manager role, there are three levels.
Each level is distinguished by similar criteria, but different expectations based on Falcon's Core and Technical Competencies.
The Station Manager is responsible for Falcon's overall customer satisfaction, profitability and daily operations for their Station.
While the EMTs and RNs of the service teams are the face of Falcon to external customers, the Station Managers are the face of Falcon to the Service Delivery Organization (internal).
They are the 'reactive' customer service reps tasked with responding to service team issues that occur while on shift.
This requires the ability to exercise independent judgment and timely decision making in alignment with Falcon Critical Care Transport's mission and values.
The Station Manager must understand EMT protocol and have practical experience solving problems that arise during a shift as well as identifying and developing a culture of trust with field crews, customers, and the general public.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Drive high-quality and profitable field operations through daily contact, oversight, and communication.
Elevate issues as required.
Foster a culture of teamwork, recognition, continuous improvement, and patient care.
Drive EMT recruiting through presentations and training assistance at local EMT schools.
Mentor, train, counsel and provide performance feedback to teammates.
Proactively address crew concerns, and communicate back with crews.
Maintain staff schedule with enough EMTs and RNs to meet budgeted transport targets.
Be able to flex schedule as necessary.
Maintain supplies, stock and proper ambulance fleet maintenance.
Reactive customer service including:
on-call, providing lift assists, responding to issues, filling in on ambulance transports or empty shifts, if needed.
Ensure LEMSA requirements including relationships and leading certification inspections for the entire Falcon fleet in their local county.
Meet transport goals set by the budget for that year.
Assist in staff education needs including:
academy, driver education, safety initiatives.
Provide feedback and recommend changes to processes, policies, and procedures.
Contribute to the success of Falcon by performing any other related duties deemed necessary to meet the needs of the Company.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Technically and practically experienced EMT or Paramedic.
Ability to function as an EMT performing direct BLS patient care activities.
Maintain certification(s) and licensures consistent with performing job duties and qualification to work in county(s).
Adhere to company and EMSA policies and procedures.
Maintain a driving record in compliance with Falcon policy regarding insurability.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE Licensed as an EMT or Paramedic in the State of California Must continuously maintain valid certifications in AHA BLS Provider CPR and a Medical Examiner's Certificate.
Minimum two years serving as EMT and ability to fulfill all essential roles and responsibilities of that position.
Education and experience in emergent, non-emergent, and intra-hospital care commensurate with the patient care mission including basic interventions to reduce morbidity and mortality.
FTO and/or Crew Leader experience preferred Must possess a valid California Driver's License and Ambulance Driver's License or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire.
This certificate must be kept current for the duration of employment in the position.
Additional Santa Clara Badge Requirements for working in Santa Clara County PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to pass the Physical Agility Test successfully.
Perform the physical requirements of the position including:
good physical stamina, endurance, and body condition that would not be adversely affected by frequently having to walk, stand, lift, carry, and balance at times.
Able to lift, drag, hoist, and carry different types of equipment and other objects.
