Our evidence-based programs enable cancer patients and their loved ones to improve health outcomes and quality of life.
Our main center is in Walnut Creek and we have a satellite office in East Contra Costa County.
Programs are provided in-person and virtually.
CSC is part of a national network of CSC support centers throughout the country.
Celebrating more than 30 years of nationally-recognized mission delivery, the organization is now poised for transformational growth, as we prepare to build a new state-of-the-art campus for cancer support in a natural, healing environment.

The Director of Events will be responsible for producing and managing Cancer Support Community's signature events - the Hope Walk & Community Fair, the CSC Golf Classic, and the Gala in the Grove - and will also support other events within the organization and community that raise funds for CSC's programs.
Last year, our three signature events raised a total of $1M in donations.
This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is a full-time, exempt position, with evening and weekend hours required.
Compensation for the position is competitive, depending on qualifications and experience, and includes health care, paid time off, and a 401k plan.
Duties:
Produce and manage the Gala in the Grove.
Produce and manage the CSC Golf Classic.
Produce and manage the Hope Walk & Community Fair.
Provide support for all internal events as well as external events produced by other organizations and individuals to raise funds for CSC.
Cultivate and steward event sponsors, donors and volunteers.
Other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
Minimum
Qualifications:
A passion for the mission of Cancer Support Community.
Successful experience in event planning and management including cultivation, and retention of event participants, soliciting corporate sponsorships, providing pre/post-event follow up, recruiting/managing committee members and vendors, managing database for all event donors/contributions and maintaining timelines on all design materials.
Successful track record in fundraising.
Experience working with volunteers Excellent analytical, problem-solving and team-building skills.
Strong written communication and public speaking skills.
BA and five (5) years plus of experience in event management executing high profile fundraising events.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
