Summary:
Ensure the success of ARF's leadership and legacy giving programs by stewarding and optimizing a portfolio of donors with capacity to give a minimum of $10,000 each annually.
Develop and implement personalized strategies for the identification qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a portfolio of 150 major donors and prospects.
Consistently engage with donors and prospects at events and through in-person, zoom, and phone, meetings, phone meetings, and email and post communications.
Develop compelling, customized proposals for funding ARF programs; create supporting proposal and report documents for submission to individuals, family foundations, and/or donor advisors.
Achieve or exceed annual goals for donor engagements, presented and accepted proposals, gift size, total revenue raised, etc.
Evaluate, organize, edit, and extrapolate data into comprehensive reports on major gift and campaign donors and prospects; adjust strategies as needed.
Closely collaborate with the Planned Giving Manager to expand membership in ARF's legacy giving society.
Support strategy design in collaboration with ARF Advancement team as a whole, Attend, support, and optimize donor experiences at ARF special events.
Practice and promote a positive, humane, and caring attitude toward people and animals; contribute to ARF's happy and collaborative culture Promote partnerships and foster public relations beneficial to ARF.
Effectively utilize systems and software to record donor engagements; research and cultivate donors and prospects using Raiser's Edge/NXT, WealthEngine, Crescendo, the internet, and/or other technology as appropriate.
Maintain the utmost confidentiality of all ARF donor, prospect, and/or other internal information.
Comply with all Federal, State and local safety regulations and laws, as well as ARF policies and guidelines.
Follow established procedures governing safe work practices; and perform duties in a manner to assure the safety of oneself and others.
Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducational Requirements and
Qualifications:
Four-year college degree or equivalent professional experience.
CRFE or similar professional designation preferred.
Experience, Abilities and Qualities:
Five or more years of experience in non-profit fundraising, with a d emonstrated record of success in securing individual, corporate and/or foundation gifts of five to seven figures; or comparable experience in for-profit sales.
Superior interpersonal skills, with the capacity to develop and advance relationships with a diverse community of donors, prospects, colleagues, volunteers, partners, and/or community members to achieve ARF's goals.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Professional demeanor and presentation (attire, language, etc.
).

Enthusiasm for the human-animal bond; concern for the welfare of people and animals; comfort with animals in the workplace.
Proficiency in software and systems such as Raiser's Edge/NXT, WeathEngine, Crescendo, Engaging Networks, Asana, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
A valid California Driver's License with not more than two at-fault incidents in a three-year period and no major at-fault violations in the last ten years, and must be insured.
Pre-employment background check required.
Work environment includes constant exposure to animals and animal allergens.
Push/pull moderately heavy objects up to 25 pounds.
Kneel, bend, stoop, squat, reach above and below shoulder level, grasp and turn objects, stand and/or walk frequently and repetitively throughout each shift.
Flex the neck upward and downward; twist the neck and the waist.
Sit for long and short periods of time using a computer.
Drive an automobile.
Hours:
Exempt position requires 40 hours per week.
Daily reporting hours and days of the week may vary according to the needs of the department.
Hybrid workplace option available.
Weekend, holiday and evening work may be required along with local travel.
