Clinical Coordinator for Drug Utilization Management

patient bed hospital in Northern California is searching for a highly motivated and experienced PGY1 and Utilization Review Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator to join their dynamic healthcare team.

In this role, the Clinical Coordinator will have oversight of Drug Utilization Management, Residency Program, and Clinical Services.
The position requires a dynamic and skilled professional committed to providing the highest quality of patient care through comprehensive drug utilization management, oversight of the residency program, and clinical services.
Responsibilities will include overseeing and managing the Drug Utilization Management and Residency program to ensure the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medications within the hospital.
The Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator will also facilitate and manage the hospital's pharmacy residency program, including precepting and mentoring residents, overseeing the program's curriculum and evaluation.
Collaboration with healthcare providers to optimize clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management, drug therapy monitoring, and therapeutic interventions is a key aspect of this role.
The coordinator will participate in quality improvement initiatives, medication safety, and guideline development, while serving as a resource and mentor to pharmacy staff to foster a culture of excellence in clinical pharmacy services.
Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and clinical outcomes is expected.
Maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and accreditation standards, as well as assisting in the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy initiatives, are additional responsibilities.
Qualified candidates should have a graduate degree from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy or an equivalent pharmacy education program.
A Pharm.
D.
degree is preferred, and completion of a postgraduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy residency program is required.
Clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting is also required, along with strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
The candidate should possess knowledge of drug utilization management, residency program management, and clinical pharmacy services.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary healthcare environment is essential, and current pharmacist licensure in the state of California is necessary.
