Head Swim Coach
DEWING PARK SWIM TEAM is a recreational swim team located in Walnut Creek, California seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Head coach with a love of swimming and enthusiasm for working with children and young adults swimming at the recreational level. This role requires maintaining the enthusiasm and competitiveness of our team in conjunction with other coaches and parent volunteers. Applicant will be required to attend daily practice, Wednesday evening and Saturday morning swim meets. Applicants must be current with all USA Swimming safety coaching requirements or be willing to obtain them quickly. Applicants must be able to pass a USA Swimming background check prior to final hire. ASCA certification is a plus. Job position is part time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. developing work-outs, setting goals, progression schedule and developing swimmers of all age groups; candidate will also be involved with the day-to-day operation of the team; candidate will prepare and deliver Meet information in a timely manner, knowledge of TeamUnify a plus, superior organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail is a must.
Enthusiasm Skills
:
Candidate needs to have excellent communication skills to connect with the swimmers and parents (including parent committees). Most importantly, we are looking for an individual who is passionate about the work, who exhibits fun and excitement without compromising competitiveness, readily accepts responsibility, is willing to be available to parents, and who is creative and willing to grow. We prefer a candidate with a long term focus.
Background:
We are a recreational team that relies on investing in our swimmers and returning families to continue our long and proud history of serving our community. We are a family-owned and operated team with over 150 members which has been in existence for over 30 years. Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
